Enemy Mine - 1: Italy - South of Italy, 2: Northern Ireland - The Kickhams, 3: Cyprus - The Moment Time Stood Still, 4: Hungary - Where the Water Is Deep, 5 Germany - Cracks in the Land, 6: Albania - White Faces (Six-part Video Series)

ENEMY MINE, a six-part series, gives voice to ordinary individuals whose lives bear witness to the contemporary consequences of age-old tensions. These narratives may seem like fictional constructs, but they are true, and they are enacted by the real people involved, not by actors. 1: ITALY - The harsh beauty of Calabria frames this story of a man who struggles to help his homeland rise from poverty by running an honest and progressive bank. Like other in the town of Taurianova, he and his schoolteacher wife contend with Mafia rule. 2: NORTHERN IRELAND - In a Belfast Catholic neighborhood in the heartland of the "troubles," the Gaelic Athletic Association and their wives, widowed mothers and children struggle to live normal, happy lives. 3: CYPRUS - Set in Nicosia, the last divided European city, this extremely cinematic, poetic and dreamlike film regards the memories and nightmares of Greek Cypriots separated from their loved ones for two decades since the Turkish invasion in 1974. 4: HUNGARY - The lot of the Hungarian Gypsy is not a romantic one. The mistrust and anger between them and their neighbors stains the beautiful, pastoral landscape of the Putza region. 5 GERMANY - This poignant film explores the mystery surrounding the death of a young man who was shot while trying to escape by climbing the Berlin wall before it came down in 1989. 6: ALBANIA - The first Western film to be shot in Albania, this story revolves around along-time political prisoner, who on his release takes it on himself to arbitrate revenge killings plaguing the country. The ancient code of the mountain inspires an endless cycle of bloody violence.
